If the app is running slowly, freezing, not loading content properly, or showing repeated errors, clearing the app’s cache can often resolve the issue. Follow the steps below for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android.

What is the app cache?

The cache contains temporary files saved by the app to help it load faster (for example images, login/session data, or recently used content). Over time, these files can become outdated or corrupted and cause unexpected behavior.

iOS (iPhone / iPad)

On iOS, apps typically don’t offer a direct “clear cache” button. The most effective way to clear cached app data is to offload or reinstall the app.

Option A — Offload the App (keeps documents/data)

This removes the app itself while keeping its documents and data. When you reinstall it, iOS often rebuilds temporary files.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage)
  4. Scroll and select the app
  5. Tap Offload App
  6. Confirm
  7. Tap Reinstall App (or re-download the app from your Home Screen)

✅ Good option if you want to avoid losing stored app data (when applicable).

Option B — Delete & Reinstall (most thorough)

This is the most reliable way to fully refresh the app and its cached data.

  1. Press and hold the app icon on your Home Screen
  2. Tap Remove App
  3. Tap Delete App and confirm
  4. Open the App Store
  5. Search for the app
  6. Tap Install
  7. Open the app and sign in again if prompted

⚠️ Note: Deleting the app may remove locally stored data inside the app (depending on how the app is built). If you’re unsure, use Offload first.

Android

Android usually allows you to clear cached files directly from the app settings.

Option A — Clear Cache (recommended first)

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps (or Apps & notifications)
  3. Select the app
  4. Tap Storage (or Storage & cache)
  5. Tap Clear cache
  6. Reopen the app

✅ This keeps your app data and settings in most cases.

Option B — Clear Storage / Clear Data (more thorough)

If clearing cache doesn’t help, you can reset the app’s stored data.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Select the app
  4. Tap Storage (or Storage & cache)
  5. Tap Clear storage / Clear data
  6. Confirm
  7. Reopen the app and sign in again if needed

⚠️ Note: This may log you out and remove downloaded/offline content or preferences.

Still having issues?

If the problem continues after clearing the cache:

  • Restart your device
  • Make sure you’re using the latest app version
  • Check whether you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi/4G/5G)

If you contact support, please include:

  • Your device model (e.g., iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S22)
